There is something rather special about an AGA.

Not simply as a cooker, but as a quiet, steady presence at the heart of the home, a place that gathers people, softens a room, and brings a sense of comfort that is difficult to replicate elsewhere.

At our West Grinstead barns, we now have a collection of AGA cookers on display, all live and working, ready to be explored as they are intended:

Each is fully operational, allowing you to see, touch, and understand how they perform in daily use. This is not a static display. It is an opportunity to properly experience what an AGA offers.

A lifetime of understanding, thoughtfully applied

IWe have many years of experience in the design and installation of AGA kitchens, and it remains very much our preferred way of cooking.

An AGA asks something different of a kitchen. It encourages generosity of space, depth in cabinetry, and a thoughtful approach to workflow. When handled well, it creates a kitchen that feels calm, anchored, and entirely at ease within the home.

We have designed countless kitchens around AGA cookers, and this experience informs every decision we make, from proportions and layout, through to the smallest practical detail.

A few thoughts from Jasper on designing an AGA kitchen

The AGA of today, however, is quite different in function from those many of us remember. With state-of-the-art technology, controllable ovens, and a wide range of sizes and colours, there is now an AGA to suit almost every home and way of living.

When designing a kitchen around an AGA, there are a few principles we always return to:

Allow the cooker to lead. It should feel like the natural focal point of the room.
Ensure there is sufficient space around it. An AGA invites people to gather.
Work with depth. Slightly deeper cabinetry often improves both function and presence.
Keep the backdrop considered and restrained, allowing the cooker to sit comfortably within the architecture.
Focus on practical storage. Pantries, drawers, and well-organised interiors make everyday use effortless.
