The Retreat
The Brief
This kitchen is located within a new space in this coastal property created by bring together smaller rooms. Having worked with the clients on their previous home we were called in again to create a sociable family kitchen where four generations of the family could be together.
Elements
The design is balanced and symmetry created by the pair of Armoire at each end of the cooker elevation. With one Armoire to house all the kitchens crockery and the other has a pantry for provision storage. The central cooking zone has companion cupboards to flank the cooker and a butcher’s block with extra thick Oak top for chopping and as a useful spot in the middle of the space.
The American fridge freezer has been housed in a traditional surround to soften its aesthetic within the space. The sink sideboard with integrated dishwasher and bin is gently curved leading to the dining area and garden. The ‘secret door’ book cabinet leads to the laundry and boot room beyond.
